Micha Klang first discovered electronic music in the early 1990's while playing in a punk band. Soon Micha and his friends found them! selves quickly gravitating towards DJ mixes and the parties going on in their hometown of Nurnberg, Germany.
Strongly influenced by the sounds of such artists as the legendary Sven Vath, he quit playing guitar, bought turntables, and immersed himself in the world of DJing. His first gigs in 1997 helped support his new record buying habits, and more importantly- pushed him into new musical arenas.
A year later, Klang began promoting his own events, christened by the Mothership parties. It wasn't long before Mothership became one of the leading club nights in Nurnberg. Other clubs such as Tresor, Stammheim, and U60311 took notice and put him behind their decks.
In the next few years, Micha brought Mothership to many of the best festivals in Europe, including one of the largest, Summership- an open air event in an old castle attended by thousands! He added more club nights to his roster, and the success of his promotion opened avenues to production. In 2003 Micha Klang, along with friends Joachim Spallek and DJ Sebrok released their first EP on Bash Music.
Currently, Klang runs his label Paso Music with Spallek, Sebrok, and Marc Miroir. He hasn't left the club nights behind; Micha also handles booking for Die Rakete and Der Hirsch in southern Germany. This winter marked the 7th anniversary of Mothership, and the celebrations included the very man who brought Micha to electronic music, Sven Vath.
In 2006 Micha will launch another Label named Glückskind Schallplatten. A place for cool minimal Techno tunes. The first release will come out this spring. A great track created by Philadelphia´s Someone Else (incl. Onur Özer Remix). Upcoming summer Micha will release his first EP on Glückskind.
Micha Klang's style is marked by a love for long sets of minimal, textured tech-house combined with crunchy, crispy techno beats. Micha lays this mixture thick to rock dancefloors worldwide!
