INFORMATION Simone Serritella came out of Bologna, Italy and started his adventure collecting jazz Italian-European records. In 1999 he moved to London where he met up with long-time friend and vinyl-junkie Joe Davis from Far Out Recordings. His first single (Dribbling/Colours) under the name of Big Bang has been played by major DJ's in the nu-jazz-electronic dance nation. In 2000 he formed the record label Solaria, a club concept with a bad jazz attitude, counting on it's side artists like Flytronix, DJ Venom, Marc Mac from 4Hero, Defusion and many more. Big Bangs debut LP 'Arriving Soon' featuring various old & nu skool artists, from the evergreen Earl Zinger with his classic broken-jazz spoken poetry joint, to the synth-freak pianist Jessica Lauren. Also featured are the vocal talents of the mighty Alexander (listen to "Pressure" and "Speak Low") and the Coop vocalist Marshamellows. In addition are the jazzy fingering stylings of Hajime Yoshizawa on keyboards all the way from Japan's Sleep Walker, plus some of the most talented musicians in the scene: Neil Angilley (Snowboy), Dionne and his interpretation of Roy Ayers's classic "Higher", and Tomokazu (nu jazz Jap pioneers on Especial records). The album has already made waves, backed up by the West London scene and prominent DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Rainer Truby, Patrick Forge, and Jazzanova. Expansive steps over the Atlantic have been taken as Simone joins forces with Pete Herbert (Atlas) to form Cuica. Signed to Ubiquity Records, their new LP has already hit several charts.
