review: broken beats

Trevor Loveys - Outside In EP - Loungin'

It seems that every artist is able to rave out on Loungin’ Recordings concerning to their original music style. On this kind of record Trevor Loveys, a straight house producer on Freerange Rec. tries in offbeat funk.

He does the first track on the A-side with outstanding success, but this is not the original but the Simbad remix of “Sambooka”. Dry and odd beats are combined with fine claps in the intro, ending up in afro-tingled funk with fresh and wicked percussions. Loveys original version, also a great floorfiller is sublined with more pressure. On “the mysterious” flipside you can find an interesting and confusing electro-broken-house track which was also remixed by Max Fresh aka Hidden Agenda. The remix seems to be entangled in offbeat-style. The last track is an up-to-date downbeat with strings, flutes and fresh synthie elements. Loungin’ did it again!
