D'Stephanie - Droppin' It - Format

D’Stephanie, a cutting edge sound girl from Belgium is on the way to release her debut album „Droppin’ It“ on the label Format Records. Some little background:

D’Stephanie started a radioshow called „Tunes From The Missing Channel“ at the age of 15 on the notorious Radio Centraal in her hometown Antwerp, concentrating on freestyle. Besides hosting the radioshow she djs and produces since 1992. One of her most known tracks, „Future Warrior“ (remixed by Bugz in the Attic’s Daz-I-Kue) has been released on Sonar Kollektiv in 2005. This track based on broken beats and ragga vocals by Phillipo and is also included on the longplayer. The album includes ten tracks and is a mixture of organic broken beats, house and disco stuff. Especially the track „Rock the Disco“ should be mentioned, an interesting tune to fire up the club in primetime. Vocal guest stars include Melissa, Phillipo, Sjen Anoubis and T.Roy from Broadcite Records, London. As musical guest, Zap Mama’s Jan Willems should be mentioned. A full spectrum album, more interesting for club DJs but also for friends of Ragga Tunes (which is not at all my cup of tea), soul vocals and Disco.
